A ledger that fills itself in the background.

Every finalized invoice, credit note, supplier bill, payment and cancellation posts a balanced double-entry journal entry to an Estonian chart of accounts. Receivables are aged for you, and customers get statements in their own language.

Entries post themselves

Finalizing an invoice debits receivables and credits sales and VAT payable. A payment moves the money from receivables to the bank. Cancelling an unpaid invoice reverses its entry. Supplier bills and the payments you make on them post their own entries too, and exchange gains or losses on foreign-currency payments get their own lines. Debits and credits are checked to balance, every time.

  • Each payment posts its own entry
  • A cancellation reverses the entry instead of deleting it
  • A trial balance for any day, with a plain answer whether the books balance

Receivables

Know who owes what - and for how long

The receivables report ages every open invoice into buckets, with an overdue-only filter. Each customer's page shows what is outstanding and overdue, the last invoice, the last payment and the total invoiced.

  • Not due, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days
  • Customer page with the full invoice history
  • Payment reminders straight from an overdue invoice

Statements

Statements in the customer's language

Send a customer statement listing every open invoice, its age and the closing balance - as a PDF or by email, in the customer's own language. Date it today or at any earlier day, such as a month end.

  • Open items with ageing and a closing balance
  • PDF download or email from Erpilo
  • Your logo on it, like on every invoice

Set up for Estonia

Ready for Estonia from day one

A new company starts with an Estonian chart of accounts, the Estonian VAT rates with their validity dates, and the five big Estonian banks filled in with their BIC codes - switched on as soon as you add your IBAN.

  • Add your own accounts, or restore any default you removed
  • Add your own VAT rates and hide the ones you never use
  • Cash registers alongside bank accounts

Good to know

What accounting does not do yet

  • No profit and loss or balance sheet reports yet - the trial balance shows every account's balance.
  • No manual journal entries. Entries cannot be written or corrected by hand, so anything outside invoices, bills and payments cannot be booked in Erpilo.
  • No VAT return filing. The figures are in Erpilo; the KMD is filed with the Tax Board yourself.
  • No bank statement import or automatic reconciliation yet.

Does Erpilo file my VAT return (KMD)?

No. Erpilo works out VAT on invoices and posts it to the ledger, but you file the KMD with the Tax and Customs Board yourself.

Does Erpilo replace accounting software?

Not fully yet. Invoices, supplier bills and payments post automatically to an Estonian chart of accounts, and there is a trial balance. There are no manual journal entries, profit and loss or balance sheet reports, or bank statement import yet.

How does my accountant get the figures?

Invite them to the company as a user, or export a period's invoices for them as a spreadsheet plus PDF and e-invoice files. The Free plan has up to 3 users; Start and Growth have unlimited users.
